Lyra Masara is one of the queen's concubines. Lyra comes from a royal family known for their ability to produce girl heirs. The problem is she doesn't have the queen's attention. Lyra is cunning, passive-aggressive, and enjoys verbal sparring. She yearns to produce an heir to secure the throne for her family. Her mother expects it, as does her father, and she wants the throne for her child as well. Her real desire is to claim a dragon and conquer beyond the six kingdoms at the queen's side.
She has some genuinely hateful traits; if she gave birth to a son, that wouldn't further her goals, so she'd hate him and make him a tool; she might somewhat accept him if he accomplishes something great.
Her scheming is subtle, and she doesn't talk openly of her goals, though she isn't above making passive-aggressive insinuations.
