Wario

Wario's s defining traits are his yellow cap and purple overalls; larger build and remarkable strength; simple-mindedness; gruff Italian accent; rude, reckless, and greedy personality; zigzag mustache (as well as other bizarre physical features); insatiable appetite for garlic; and rivalry with Mario. Wario is a stout man, even shorter than Mario at 5'4. Despite this, he has a much larger volume of bodyweight, due to both his fat deposits and his muscular arms. Wario typically wears green dress shoes, and has been portrayed in a biker's outfit multiple times. Wario is a greedy, self serving, crude, purposefully gross individual. Wario is also incredibly vain. He considers himself to be very good-looking, despite most others describing his face as ugly or downright frightening; Wario is considered scary to most onlookers, seemingly almost deranged. Wario's acts of heroism are usually driven by greed, such as defeating the Black Jewel and Shake King to recover his own valuables and obtain a new one, respectively, and rescuing Spritelings so they can rebuild his castle or get treasure for him. In Wario Land: Shake It!, he outright ignores Queen Merelda's gratefulness for rescuing her, tossing her away in favor of immediately going after the nearby treasure. Wario has a deep, gravelly voice, which has been described as 'The Bronx if it were a set of vocal chords', similar to a fantasy portrayal, played by Danny Devito. Wario is not the most intelligent man out there, often being reckless and falling for even simple tricks. However, he makes up for this by being an absolute train of a man, being even stronger than Mario and rivaling Bowser in sheer muscle. Wario is also considerably more durable than his rival, able to take nearly twice the punishment and dish it out just as hard, often charging forward with shoulder bashes and consistently using his body as a 350 pound weapon. Wario typically wears a plumber outfit with a cap and overalls, similar to that of Mario, Luigi, and Waluigi, with several key differences. He wears a yellow cap with a white streak on the rim, a yellow T-shirt and purple overalls with white buttons, and green pointed shoes. His cap has a black "W" printed on it, which exceeds the white spot space it is inside. He also wears white gloves, with the same black "W" printed on each glove. Wario's primary color, yellow, is the opposite color of purple, Waluigi's primary color, on the RYB color model. Wario hates Mario because as a child, the two of them were friends, but ad they grew up, Mario became more well liked, while Wario became much less liked. He felt betrayed and left behind, planning vengeance by stealing his castle while he was rescuing Daisy. In recent years, his rivalry with Mario has taken a more playful tone.

Waluigi

Waluigi

Waluigi's outfit includes a purple undershirt under usually very dark indigo overalls (which are occasionally pure black), orange shoes, and a purple cap that covers his short, brown hair. He has a large, pink nose, a thin mustache which is straight (horizontal) and pointed up at the edge, and black eyes, his eyes being surrounded by light blue rings. He also has long limbs and a skinny torso. The black symbol on his hat and gloves is a vertical mirror image of Luigi's "L" which forms a "Γ", just as Wario wears a "W" in contrast to Mario's "M". "Γ" is also the Greek letter Gamma, which is pronounced similarly to "G". Just like his partner, Waluigi is the extreme form of his rival. While Luigi is tall and skinny, Waluigi is taller and skinnier, just as Wario is obese in contrast to Mario. Waluigi has a very sharp jaw and a pointy chin. Waluigi's sharp, handlebar mustache is an exaggeration of Luigi's soft and fluffy mustache. Many bios describing him in Super Mario sports games mention (and poke fun at) his features, including his sharp jaw, lanky proportions at around 6'4, a pointy nose, and flat feet. Waluigi is a troublemaker and a boastful, ill-tempered foil to the more humble and gentle Luigi. He has bad chemistry with most other characters besides Wario. He has a perpetual scowl and is quick to anger. His victory celebrations, accompanied by his brandishing a rose and playing an invisible crowd, often highlighting his self-aggrandizing nature and vanity, and in Japanese material, he speaks with the pronoun "ore-sama", commonly used for extremely arrogant characters. However, despite his overconfidence and similar hunger for treasure to Wario, Waluigi is also characterized by misfortune and the great amount of self-pity he displays at other times. Waluigi feels that good things are always happening to others and not to him, causing him great frustration. Such as how he constantly points out his own disadvantages and is quick to attribute his losses to his opponents cheating, while hypocritically taking pride in his own cheating. Waluigi has been shown as quite secretive about his personal life and has demonstrated a more cynical and skeptical point of view compared to the other characters, as even his oldest descriptions mentioned his egotism and his outsider status in the Mushroom Kingdom. Waluigi's legs are shown to be particularly powerful, as he easily defeats Bowser with a single kick. In addition, Waluigi is demonstrated to be an great jumper. His stats are seen to come close to Luigi's jumping skills, if not surpassing it. Waluigi has a lower pitched voice. Not as gravely or low pitch as Wario's, but also lower than Luigi's. Waluigi often uses a thorny whip as a weapon, in addition to bombs. Waluigi owns a 4 wheel offroader. Buried very deep under all of his bluster, however, Waluigi is surprisingly selfless, having sacrificed his place in the Smash tournament for Princess Daisy instead because he saw her crying.
